North American National Horse Show 2007!
Click here for our news and pics! I started my love affair with model horses as a young girl with those wonderful Breyers. I used to save my allowance and my mother would take me to Cox's department store where I would agonize over purchasing just the right one. I treasured those horses but as I grew older I made the fateful decision that I was "too old" for "toy horses" and consigned the whole collection to a family garage sale. Still one of my life's deepest regrets! For a brief synopsis on the model horses and the hobby of collecting and showing model horses, see this Wikipedia article. Now living on a farm with 5 horses, 45 goats, multiple cats and dogs, a husband, and 2 daughters, I have rediscovered my love of the model horses. My - how things have changed since the 70's when I collected those Breyer plastics! My current collection is varied and consists of Artists Resins, Customized plastics, and Original Finish plastics by Breyer and Peter Stone. I am not a specialist - I enjoy all breeds and all scales, like to live show and enjoy photographing my collection, and socializing with other hobbiests both on the numerous email lists and at shows.
