2004 News and Highlights

It's been over a year since I've kept up with this portion of the website - I apologize to everybody!

Needless to say, there is a LOT of news and quite a few highlights! I probably won't go back and try cover everything now, but will hit on some of the important stuff and try to keep up better from now on!

News from this year so far:

Oct.2004

We tested the entire herd, every buck, doe, kid and even our daughters' old wether, for CL with UC Davis in California. As expected, the whole herd was negative. Results here

Whole herd CAE test in May 2004 (animals over 6 months old). Whole herd was negative and we've never had any animal in our herd test positive. Results can be found here

We congratulate Anne Petersen of Roshasharn on finishing

MCH Twin Creeks WB Fire Storm *S

Fire Storm is out of our 2002 National Champion Doe, MCH Mariri's Zinnia,

and sired by MCH Goodwood Weisbaden.

We have finished one of our own this year as well,

MCH Twin Creeks BW Aragorn *S

Aragorn was the AGS Reserve National Champion Buck, and is the

product of two of our homebred MCH's, Bay Watch and Betty Davis. He has a sweet personality to match his good looks and we are very proud of him!

We own one lovely LaMancha doe, who is double-registered with AGS and ADGA. She is a beloved milker and family pet, and this year in her only outing as a show doe since she was a yearling first freshener, she went out and earned herself the title of Reserve National Champion Lamancha Doe at the AGS National!

CH Fairwoods M Patience

At the large ADGA show the following day she went Grand Champion out of over 50 Lamancha Senior Does and she has now earned her -CH- title in ADGA.

We did a lot of family fun and travel this summer, so dried all the does off at the beginning of the summer. Obviously, this cut our show season short and since the does are all dry and fat on summer grass, we haven't been milking either. We did, however, have a small one day milk test in early April and 2 does earned their stars:

Piddlin Acres SC Sheila 2*D   4.5 pounds   5.0% BF

HBF LS Darlin Clementine *D  4.1 pounds  5.5% BF
